2010 – Continues providing great coaching and opportunities for players to learn and expand their Rugby skills and knowledge. The senior juniors were provided playing opportunities against Mackay teams both home and away.

2011 – The Rugby community for juniors started the season with 140 members!!! We were able to field teams to play Mackay in U10s, U12s, U13/14s, U15/16s. Home and away games provided the spectators with great optimism for junior rugby. Whitsunday JRU also competed in the Mackay Primary Schools Rugby World Cup 2011 competition for U12’s and U10s.

2012 - We continue to grow to 150 memebers. We fielded teams from U6 - U17. Unfortunately this season saw Mackay Junior Rugby union not able to field consistent senior teams for U15/17. All other grades played games against Mackay. WJRU also sent away our first touring team U13's to the Qld Country Tieri Muster. Great time had by all. The season finished with a Viking Cup Ten's competition within the club with all grades.

2013 - This year will see WJRU conducted our first ever junior carnival with invited teams from Townsville Rugby Union District and also continue our Viking cup 10's competition at home.

Past

(more past history coming – watch this space – did you know Junior Rugby was taking place in the early 1990’s for about 4 years and again later in the 1990’s?)
